THE ADVENTURE

Hello Everyone!  If you're reading this that probably means you're hearing the subtle whisper calling you to travel to India.   This will be my 10th adventure to the healing lands of the Himalayas.  All my travels and studies in India have completely changed my life, and it's become my souls passion to share the teachings and the adventures with as many people as I can.  This year we begin our adventure in Dharamshala where we'll be hosted by a local Monk, Lama Chogyl.  Lama Chogyl will show us around the Himalayan village where the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan people reside.  We will have the rare privilege of meeting the Dalai Lama and seeing His Holiness speak publicly during our stay.  We then make our way to Rishikesh where we will experience the Sattva Summit International Yoga Festival.  During our time in Rishikesh we will have many outings and excursions of exploration.  This years Pilgrimage will be completely different from my past retreats to India.  It will be an amazing life-changing adventure that will completely alter your experience of life.  It's truly an honor for me to share my love for the Holy lands of India.  This year I'm capping the number of retreat guests to offer a more intimate experience, so this will sell out fast, currently there are only 3 spots left.  If you're feeling called to travel with me, please contact me or put down your $500 deposit to hold your spot.

Dharamshala

Meeting the Dalai Lama

Our retreat begins on November 1st.  We will be greeted and hosted by Lama Choygal who is a local monk who lives high in the Himalayas. We will take a commuter flight from Delhi to Dharamshala where will  start our adventure exploring the picturesque Himalayan village.  Dharamshala is where the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan Buddhist community decided to reside after fleeing Tibet.  We will spend time trekking, meditate in monasteries, and sipping tea while taking in the views, and enjoying the crisp fall air of the Himalayan Peaks.

We will also have the honor of  being in the presence of the Dalai Lama while he teaches publicly.

Excursions

Sattva Summit

This will be the third annual Sattva Summit.  Your retreat guide Angie Hall will be teaching at the Summit along side world-renowned international yoga teachers.  Each morning we will begin our day with Sunrise Puja, followed by meditation by the river.  There will be several different offerings of yoga classes, wisdom talks, creative workshops, sound healing, hiking, ecstatic dance, & cultural events, to choose from each day, as well as many excursions of exploration.  The Sattva Retreat Center is a five star resort, with beautiful  accommodations, daily meals prepared by local chefs serving Ayurvedic, vegetarian cuisine, and a crystal clear swimming pool to keep refreshed in the afternoon sun.

Rishikesh

We will make our way back to Delhi and take another commuter flight to Dehradun.  From Dehradun we will be picked up in off-road jeeps to prepare for our rugged drive into the Himalayas.  We will begin our stay at the Sattva Retreat Center located along a beautiful river 40 minutes into the mountains outside of Rishikesh.   During our time in Rishikesh we will be attending the Sattva Summit, which is a boutique conscious gathering and international yoga festival.  Click to the right to see more information about the Sattva Summit as well as all details about our excursions and activities.

Beatles Ashram

Back in the 60’s the Beatles met Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and for a year they lived in his Ashram and learned Transcendental Meditation  The Ashram is no longer in use, but is still an amazing site to see.  We will visit the Ashram and you’ll get a taste of history and feel the energy of the music and healing that was created there.

Devaprayag

Devprayag is known as the town of Godly Confluence. As per Hindu scriptures, Devprayaga is the sacred event of merging two heavenly rivers, Alakananda and Bhagirathi to form the Holy Ganga.  So we will literally experience the confluence of mind, body and soul of the divine energy where the sacred River Ganga begins.

We will make a day-trip to visit the sacred village and  connect to the healing energy of the Ganga river.

Ganga River Aarti Ceremony

Aarti ceremony along the Ganga River is truly something not to miss.  An aarti is a devotional ritual that uses fire as an offeringThe spiritually uplifting ceremony is performed daily to honor the River Goddess Ganga. Every day, as dusk descends on the Earth, the ghats of the River Ganga witnesses a spectacular ceremony. Hundreds of diyas, mantras, aroma of incense, flowers, and musical instruments create an ambiance of divine bliss.

Taj Mahal

We will visit one of Seven Wonders of the World; the famous and aw-inspiring Taj Mahal. The Taj Mahal is an enormous mausoleum complex commissioned in 1632 by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan to house the remains of his beloved wife. Constructed over a 20-year period on the southern bank of the Yamuna River in Agra, India, it's something every first time visitor to India must see.

Kunjapuri Devi Temple

We will experience a sunrise meditation high on the Himalayan peaks of this sacred Shakti Temple.

According to the mythology, when Lord Shiva was carrying the burnt body of Sati, her burned chest fell at the place where the temple is currently located. From the temple, you can see the panoramic view of snow-clad white Himalayas and river Ganga (Ganges) from the same peak.

Rosanne Shank

Kailua-Kona, HI

I attended my first ever yoga retreat in Bali, Indonesia in August of 2019. It was a marvelous retreat with life changing outcomes.

With the wisdom and guidance of Angie Hall, my meditation practice makes more sense and has more meaning to me than it ever has. The shift started with learning techniques to help increase and improve my self love. The changes that I witnessed and felt in just a few days were substantial. Then add the backdrop of Bali, which was one of my “to do” list destinations,  which elevated the experience to beyond wonderful.

Thank you so much for a beautiful experience.

I have to say the best part of the entire journey was the meditation and yoga practices in the mornings.  Through this I learned more about myself and my own spiritual path, how to meditate in a way that brings me peace and not frustration, and I gained a deeper understanding about Sattva yoga.  Angie makes what can be a confusing and obscure practice understandable and sustainable in daily life. This was not a "woo-woo sit around and navel gaze" experience, that would never work for me. This was real and deep and powerful.  I feel deeply connected to everyone from the trip and they will be in my hearts forever.  I am now meditating regularly in addition to my yoga practice.  If I allow myself to become still, I can still feel the Bali breeze on my skin, hear the birds, smell the sweet air and feel the love of my new friends.

Angie’s retreats are life-changing, but they are also very intense. Do not sign up expecting a low-key vacation of pampering self-care. Though the locations are idyllic, and there are many memorable moments of humor, fun, and relaxation, that’s definitely not end game. You will work. You will move way beyond your comfort zone. And you will rediscover who you are in the process. It’s not easy. But it’s worth it. And if you show up and do the work, you will leave far better than you came, feeling lighter, more aware, and more rooted in your truth than you ever thought possible.
